Working on a "Masterpiece"

It’s been on my mind to create a quilt that doesn’t have a pattern. One that I just cut the pieces and sew them together. This quilt will be called, “Masterpiece”. It is the first quilt I’ve created with a depth of meaning unlike the others that I have made.

Multiple colors of print fabrics

It will be a vase. And the multiple color pieces will be pieced together very carefully as to not ripple or pucker. I am up for this challenge instead of sewing it by foundation paper piecing, which is definitely easier, I want the finished look to be for more abstract.

Scraps of mismatched pieces sewn together

This quilt is a reflection of the pain of hardships and burnout. It is how life can feel broken into tiny pieces-like a beautiful vase smashed to the ground. God uses those shattered pieces to create something new, better and more beautiful than before….a “Masterpiece”.

He will use this new vase to display his Glory.

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father. We are the clay, you our potter, and all of us are the work of your hand.” -Isaiah 64:8
